The Spanish FA's Competition Committee (RFEF) has suspended Dani Parejo (Valencia) and Sergi Roberto (Barcelona), after the pair were sent off against Getafe and Celta Vigo respectively.

The committee has dismissed Valencia's allegations that Parejo's dismissal against Getafe (85') should have just been a yellow card. "The replays show violent intent from the player," they stated. "That merits the minimum punishment of a one-game suspension, as originally stated."

The refereeing committee had been reviewing the Valencia captain's red card offence, of "striking the throat of an opponent with his arm off the ball."

The committee also punished Sergi Roberto with a one-game ban, after the Barcelona was sent off at the Balaidos stadium (70'), having "brought down a rival who was getting away towards goal, and depriving him of a goalscoring opportunity."

Michel Rocha (Las Palmas) was also suspended for a game after receiving two yellow cards in a game, while Jonny (Celta Vigo), Gaya (Valencia), Jorge Molina (Getafe), Mario Hermoso (Espanyol), Timor (Girona) and Sergio Leon (Real Betis) all received suspensions for the accumulations of bookings.
