Andrea Cambiasio has left the Italy camp to return to Juventus ahead of the second leg against Germany in the Nations League quarter-finals on Sunday due to an ankle injury.

Andrea Cambiaso is the second player of the day to leave the Italy camp after full-back Riccardo Calafiori flew back to Arsenal due to a "collateral knee injury between second and first degree".

"Andrea Cambiaso has left the national team camp. The defender, arrived on Sunday with a discomfort to his left ankle, was unable to fully recover from the problem and will continue to do so with his respective side," reads a statement from the 'Azzurri'.

The 25-year-old defender has returned to Juventus after being unable to recover from an injury to his left ankle, which saw him sit out the 2-1 defeat against Germany in the first leg of the Nations League quarter-finals on Thursday.

Cambiaso will therefore also miss the second leg against Julian Nagelsmann's side on Sunday, with the focus now being to return to fitness before the end of the international break and be available for Thiago Motta's 'Bianconeri'.
