The defender Salif Sane will not be able to play for Schalke for four months. The Senegalese footballer got injured in the match against Augsburg in the last match.

Schalke confirmed Sane will be out for a long time. The defender suffered a meniscus tear in his left knee and surgery was required.

The club reported that it is too early to give an exact diagnosis, but that he will be out until at least the second half of the season.

According to Schalke, because of the characteristics of the injury, the player is expected to be out for between three and four months

Sane was an important player for the German club. Until now, he has played 11 games and scored two goals. It is without doubt a big blow for the team from Gelsenkirchen.
