Spain took the lead midway through the first half of their UEFA Nations League tie against Croatia thanks to a cracking header from Saul.

Luis Enrique's side had had the better of the opening 20 minutes in the manager's first game as manager of the national side in front of their own fans.

Particularly fruitful had been the channel down the right hand side, as Dani Carvajal found himself free on a number of occasions.

Early in the game he came close to finding Rodrigo with a low cross that was just cut out, but he got his man eventually.

With the outside of his boot he floated one up to the front post, and Saul - albeit unlikely - was on hand to deliver the finishing touch.

He got the run on his defender, leapt high, and headed a powerful effort down into the ground that left Kalinic in goal with no chance.
