According to 'ESPN Brasil', the city of Sao Paulo is working for Barcelona to play several pre-season matches there between 2026 and 2028.

Barcelona is back in the limelight of world football. Hansi Flick's team's play and good results have returned the club to its rightful place in the media and this is noticeable in many aspects, especially in advertising and economics.

In this context, the Catalan side has attracted great attention in Brazil, the country of Raphinha, who has been one of the team's main points of reference this season and is aspiring to the Ballon d'or. This combination of factors could lead in the very short term to the Catalan team travelling to the South American country to play a match there.

This is indicated by several media such as 'ESPN Brasil', which points out that the city of Sao Paulo is working hard to get Barcelona to play some of its preseason matches there between 2026 and 2028.

"Sao Paulo has a clear intention to start negotiations to host Barcelona's pre-season matches between 2026 and 2028," assured Gustavo Pires, president of the Directorate of Tourism and Events of the famous Brazilian city.

Curiously, as ‘Mundo Deportivo’ points out, Pires was present at the last La Liga ‘Clasico’, in a visit that gave him good ideas for the future. "Observing closely how they organize an event of this magnitude can help us realize this dream," he said.
