By pure instinct, if someone asked you which team is still undefeated this season, you would probably hazard a guess with Barcelona, Manchester City or perhaps Juventus? But no, there is one unsuspecting side that usurps them all so far this season...

When you think of the top teams across the continent, your mind darts to the likes of Manchester City, Barcelona and Juventus, but there is one team that had a record than all of them.

Red Bull Salzburg, of the Austrian Bundesliga, remain unbeaten across all competitions so far this season.

At present, they sit top of the Austrian top flight with 11 points, having won thirteen and drawn 2 of 15 matches played so far this season. In the Europa League, they are top of Group B, with four wins from four games.

In the Austrian Cup, they recently progressed to the quarter-finals. They even won all of their pre-season matches.

While they had previosly been involved in the Champions League qualifying rounds, they never technically lost a match. Both legs of the play off match ended in a draw, but the Serbian team went through on away goals.

Across the continent; Manchester City and Liverpool remain unbeaten in the Premier League after 13 matches, but both have dropped games in the Champions League, City to Lyon, and Liverpool to Napoli, Red Star Belgrade and PSG. Jurgen Klopp's side also fell to Chelsea in the League Cup.

French giants PSG are undefeated in Ligue 1, but lost a thrilling match to Liverpool in the Champions League.

All the teams in Spain's La Liga have lost at least one match, with Real Madrid having shockingly lost five already.

In Italy, Juventus are dominating Serie A, but did succumb to a late defeat to Manchester United in the Champions League.

So, Red Bull Salzburg are the only team remaining that are yet to taste defeat so far this season. A return match against 'sister side' RB Leipzig is coming up on Thursday in the Europa League, and the Austrians will be keen to keep their run going.

A late minute winner from Fredrik Gulbrandsen was enough to give Salzburg the spoils the last time the two teams met.
