El Hadji Diouf, ex Liverpool player, has spoken on Mohamed Salah's future. "If it were me, I would stay", said the Senegalese.

Salah is edging ever closer to a Liverpool exit. The Egyptian forward will end his contract in June 2023 and the Reds are wanting to renew. However, an agreement seems far from reached at this moment in time.

El Hadji Diouf has recently spoken about the situation to 'AS'. "It's obvious that Liverpool should meet Salah's requirements. If I were Salah, I would stay", he remarked.

"He can earn more money, and he is the best player at the club with Mane and together they will win a lot of titles. He's 30 years old and I want him to play four more seasons with the Reds. Transferring to Madrid would mean going back to the start", he said.

Moreover, Diouf raised a possible issue for the Egyptian international. "Salah has to realise that he's African and they are never treated the same as Europeans", he highlighted.

To conclude, the ex Liverpool man said: "They will never give him a better contract than the others. The same happened to me when I was at Liverpool. They told me to not go back to my country and play for the national team".

Real Madrid are making movements for Salah, but so are Barcelona. The Catalan club are interested in both the Egyptian and Lewandowski ahead of a hotly contested 2022/23 season.
