Ahead of their Champions League final on Saturday, Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah spoke of his "close" relationship with head coach Jurgen Klopp.

Salah was the 'Reds' first signing last summer and he has repaid their faith by netting 44 goals in all competitions so far.

His influence has been paramount in Liverpool's European push, which will reach its conclusion against Real Madrid in Kiev's Olympic Stadium, but Salah believes Klopp has had a big part to play.

He told reporters: "From the first day, we were friends - he treated me like a friend so we are very close to each other, but still he is the boss and I am the player,"

"As a coach - as you can see - everyone knows him."

If Liverpool were to win on Saturday, it would be their sixth European crown and would stop Real securing their third consecutive Champions League title.
