Salah left the pitch in tears
All the talk ahead of the Champions League final centred on Mo Salah and Cristiano Ronaldo, and which of the super scorers would come out on top. Unfortunately for the Egyptian, his game ended prematurely.
Salah challenged Sergio Ramos for the ball and the two players went to ground. It looked innocuous, but the forward landed awkwardly on his shoulder.
He was clearly in obvious pain when he went down, and he was forced to leave the pitch after receiving treatment.
However, he did re-enter the playing field, desperate to continue, and initially he looked okay as he joined in with another Liverpool attack, helping them to win a corner.
Tragically, the treatment clearly wasn't enough, and Salah was back down soon after, in tears. He was substituted off for Adam Lallana, leaving the pitch in tears as the most important game of his career ended so soon after it had started.
It comes as a huge blow to Liverpool, but they still posess a potent attacking threat. Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane would terrify most defences. For Salah, he will now have to hope he can recover for the World Cup.
