Amadou Sagna, for Senegal U20s, had the honour of scoring the first goal of the 2019 tournament against Tahiti. In addition, his goal was the quickest ever in the history of the competition.

The Under 20 World Cup could not have started better for Senegal because they had to wait just nine seconds for the opening goal.

That is how little time Amadou Sagna took to get Senegal on the scoresheet against Tahiti.

Venezuela's Ronaldo Peña was the first goalscorer of the previous edition back in 2017.

Furthermore, the goal is the fastest in the history of the competition. The previous fastest was Monday Odiaka's for Nigeria against Canada after 14 seconds in 1985.
