RUMOURS: Everton's McCarthy a transfer target for both West Brom and Aston Villa
Aston Villa and West Brom have made enquiries for Irish international James McCarthy this week, the Daily Mail reports.
McCarthy is easing back into the Everton squad after suffering a hamstring injury while on international duty.
Nut neither Villa or West Brom appear however to be concerned about his fitness as both teams are looking to bolster their midfield options.
With Everton manager Ronald Koeman keen on signing midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin from Manchester United, McCarthy could find himself surplus to requirements at Goodison Park.
