Granada goalkeeper, Rui Silva, confirmed on his official Instagram account that the coronavirus has affected his family. He was concerned and aware of the pandemic and analysed it. He urged people to think that it is not numbers that are going away, but lives.

Granada's Portuguese goalkeeper, Rui Silva, was "proud" of how Spain is fighting to "overcome these days" of confinement because of the coronavirus pandemic while admitting that he is suffering "from a distance" for his country.

"Unfortunately, many families have already been affected by the virus, mine as well," wrote Rui Silva on his personal Instagram profile without giving further details. The Portuguese goalkeeper, one of this season's revelations in La Liga stressed that it was time to "not lose the strength of your smile".

Rui Silva, who is 26 and under contract at Granada until 2021, also wanted to send "encouragement and a lot of strength" to everybody to "manage to fight this virus". "Those who are leaving us today are not numbers, but life stories that are lost and that we have a duty to remember forever," wrote the goalkeeper.

"I am far away from my country, suffering from a distance, but proud of how you, Spain, fight to overcome these days", Rui Silva indicated.
