Rough patch for Mbappé

The 19-year-old Frenchman managed to find the net against Metz but recognised he's going through a bit of a bad spell at the moment.

It seemed his meteoric rise would never slow down, but Kylian Mbappé is experiencing somewhat of a rough patch. The PSG forward, one of the world's greatest up-and-coming talents, has topped his performances week in week out over the past year, but now it appears his light is shining a tad dimmer

Although he scored against Metz, Mbappe didn't exactly have his best game ever, lacking in precision like he did against Real Madrid. "This isn't my best spell of the season," the youngster recognised after Saturday's clash in Ligue 1.

Since 7th January, when he kickstarted his year with a brace and two assists in the Coupe de la League, the Frenchman has played 12 games and has only scored in three of them, not offering a single assist either.

His latest figures contrast starkly with his dazzling December when he netted five times and grabbed four assists in just six games.

Unai Emery spoke out on the form of his boundlessly talented youngster: "He gets frustrated easily when he loses the ball and he has to work on this. He's young, he's going to go through periods like this and he has to learn."

With the World Cup drawing ever closer, Mbappé still has a lot to learn from this season.
