Aston Villa striker Ross McCormack is on the brink of a loan deal to Australian team Central Coast Mariners that would see him join 8-time Olympic gold medallist Usain Bolt, according the 'Daily Mail'.

The 32-year-old, who has 129 goals in the Championship with 5 different clubs, has been told by Villa manager Steve Bruce that he will not be part of the team.

After an impressive loan spell in the A-League last year that saw him score 14 goals in 17 games while not fully fit, McCormack has attracted the attention of the Mariners, who will try to sign the Scotland international on loan this week.

Central Coast made headlines when they signed Usain Bolt, the fastest man of all time, on an indefinite trial, as he tries to fulfill his dream of becoming a professional footballer.

While Bolt's presence has generated huge publicity and revenue for Central Coast, he has yet to show the kind of cutting edge that McCormack could bring them. The club is looking to improve on a 2017/18 campaign that saw them finish dead last in the regular season.
