James Rodriguez, currently on a two-year loan at Bayern Munich from Real Madrid, has had his say on Cristiano Ronaldo's controversial comments following the Spanish club's defeat at Tottenham in the Champions League last month.

After Zinedine Zidane's men lost 3-1 to Spurs at Wembley, Ronaldo publicly complained about what he believed was a lack of experience in the current 'Los Blancos' ranks.

He said: ‘You cannot say that this team is worse but perhaps it has less experience, and we all know how important experience is in football.

'It’s not an excuse but obviously Pepe was a great player, and Morata and James too, all those players that have gone made us stronger.’

However, his words didn't sit well with captain Sergio Ramos, who hit back at the Portuguese star.

The defender said: ‘Everyone has their opinion but the comments appear to me to be a bit opportunist, because when we won the Super Cup earlier in the season we had the same players as now. I don’t miss anybody.’

Now, Rodriguez, one of the more ‘experienced’ players, has expressed his thoughts on the matter.

'They were going through a rough patch and words were said that were not needed. I believe Real Madrid have very good players and they will have a good season. They will find a way to respond to this this dip in form,' the Colombian told 'Caracol News'.

On a possible return to the Spanish capital, James said: 'I don't know, right now I am focusing on Bayern Munich. I am here on loan for two years and I'm enjoying myself.'

Furthermore, the playmaker did not hide his happiness after finally breaking into Bayern’s starting XI.

'At Madrid it was Kroos, Modric and I, here I am playing with Javi Martinez and Vidal. In this setup I can do good things and create more. It's a huge positive to start six games in a row after struggling for so long, it's a huge joy,’ he concluded.
