Real Volladolid president, Ronaldo Nazário, has shown solidarity with the club and given up his salary for 2022. The reason behind it was because of the losses in the 2021-2022 season, which rose to more than €5 million.

Ex-Brazilian player Ronaldo Nazario, World Cup winner in 2022 as well as current Real Valladolid president, refused to received his payment for said club, who closed play with losses of more than €5 million.

The club's General Assembly of Shareholders approved a budget of €60 million for 2023. In this meeting, 2021-2022's financial report was shown, which revealed the club in the red, with €5.164.156 in losses, because of two main reasons: the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, and going down to La Liga 2, which the additional costs resulting from the subsequent promotion must be added to.

Therefore, due to this, Ronaldo Nazario, who was part of the General Assembly via video-conference, because of him currently travelling between Qatar and Dubai, presented his refusal to receive his salary for the year up until the 30th June 2022.

Therefore, the budget for deposits and out-goings, elaborated in-line with the norms and criteria set out by La Liga, with respect to the period 1st July 2022 and 30th June 2022, is approximately €60 million.
