His hat-trick against Galatasaray has made him hit the front and back pages all over the world. Real Madrid are seeing Rodrygo burst onto the scene and there seems to be no stopping him. The rest of the world have now seen what he is capable of doing.
The Brazilian striker three Champions League goals in one game, something unusual for a footballer who has not even turned 19. His calmness in front of goal and the fact he scores easily has made him hit the headlines even outside Spain.
In England, the 'Daily Mail' described his hat-trick as "spectacular" in their match report and after eight minutes, "they were chanting his name" at the Bernabeu. It's "a stadium, so hard to tame, that by this point he had them eating from the palm of his hand", they continued.
Of course, in his home country of Brazil, he was also mentioned. "The best night of his career," 'Globosporte' wrote while 'UOL' emphasised the records he had broken at such a young age.
"Who is the young Brazilian sensation in Europe? He's called Rodrygo Goes, he's 18 and everyone is talking about him," 'Ole' wrote as their headline. They also called Rodrygo the "Real promise", a play on words with the name of the club.
'L'Equipe' in France highlighted Rodrygo's hat-trick despite "only starting for the fourth time for Real Madrid." In Italy, 'La Gazzetta dello Sport' described it as "the night of Rodrygo."
Rodrygo has now got five goals in the six matches he has played for the first team so fat this season. He started four of them, something which, seeing his quality, seems to be more than justified by Zinedine Zidane.
