Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers believes that his side's flexibility will be key for Celtic this season as he continues to experiment with new formations and systems.

After taking something of a beating in the Champions League in midweek when Celtic went down 5-0 to French giants PSG, Rodgers fielded an audacious 3-1-4-2 formation for the game against Ross County on Saturday.

The formation came up trumps for the Northern Irishman, with Celtic winning 4-0 thanks to goals from Tom Rogic, Moussa Dembele and two from James Forrest and after the game Rodgers confirmed that he will continue to vary his tactical approach this season.

'I always look at the opponents. I have been up here for a year and I have been able to see how teams set up,' he explained.

'What is important is noting the flexibility of the players.

'They are going into all these systems that I am throwing at them.

'We play teams four/six times a year and of course Celtic always has to be dominant.

'It can never be stale. You never can be predictable and so having the flexibility to play the different systems that we do will hopefully make it challenging for the opponents each time we play.

'Playing with the two strikers, the width and numbers on the inside it worked well. Let's see what Dundee brings.'

The Hoops travel to Dundee on Wednesday in the Betfred Cup.
