Rob Elliot ruled out for six months
Newcastle United goalkeeper Rob Elliot is badly injured and will be out for at least six months, putting the side's Premier League survival in jeopardy.
After an initial assessment it has shown that Elliot has injured his cruciate ligament in his knee and needs surgery.
The Newcastle keeper will be out for a minimum of six months, which has ruled him out of the European Championships.
