Ritchie and Shelvey very close to renewing Newcastle contract

Newcastle is very close to sealing a new deal for the midfielders Jonjo Shelvey and Matt Ritchie. That is what the 'Chronicle' confirmed, who assured this Sunday that the conversations are very advanced.

Newcastle are fighting to stay in the Premier League. The lost at Crystal Palace was a big blow for their survival hopes. Despite everything, their efforts to renew their key players continues

And the first step could be renewing the contract of midfielders Jonjo Shelvey and Matt Ritchie. That is what the 'Newcastle Chronicle' says this Sunday. They added that talks are advanced with both footballers. 

The two players' contracts expire in 2021. The plan for them to renew for a further two seasons. A desire expressed by both footballers which Newcastle are willing to accept. Therefore, both players' new contracts are close to being made official

Jonjo Shelvey joined Newcastle halfway through the 2015-16 season. This term he has played 1274 minutes across 17 matches and he has scored five goals. Matt Ritchie has been at Newcastle for four seasons. He has played just 882 minutes although he enters in Steve Bruce's plans.
