Lille released a statement explaining that Renato Sanches' operation on his right knee was successful. The midfielder will be out for a month and a half, although his availability will depend on his progress in the coming weeks.

The star of various rumours over the last few weeks, Renato Sanches received some bad news this Tuesday regarding the next few matches for Lille, his current side. The current Ligue 1 champions communicated that the Portuguese will be out for a month and a half after undergoing surgery on his right knee.

"Renato Sanches underwent successful surgery for a meniscus injury in his right knee. He will be able to start his treatment programme this week. The estimated time out is six weeks, although that will be decided in more detail in the next few days", Lille explained in a statement.

As a result, Sanches won't be available for Fernandes Santos either, as he selects his Portugal team for the upcoming international break in September.
