Real Madrid to have 20 days preparation, says La Liga chief

La Liga president Javier Tebas, speaking to the Associated Press, has addressed Real Madrid's season opener schedule, confirming Los Blancos will have 20 days to prepare, not 21.
Javier Tebas responded to Thibaut Courtois's comments in an interview with the Associated Press. The La Liga president confirmed Real Madrid had sought 21 days to prepare for their season opener against Osasuna at the Bernabeu, but they will get 20.
"That decision isn't La Liga's to make. Nothing needs to be changed. PSG don't alter their schedule in the French League, nor do Chelsea in the Premier League. Real Madrid requested 21 days of preparation; they will have 20. I don't believe they'll lose against Osasuna due to a single day," he remarked.
Tebas's response followed the Belgian goalkeeper's remarks: "La Liga is always the same. I haven't seen a president in Italy, England, or the NBA make such comments. Tebas may not like the Club World Cup, but it exists."
"Here we are again, and it seems this man craves attention. I've never seen a president of another competition speak like that." Javier Tebas dispelled any lingering doubts: Real Madrid will host Osasuna at the Bernabeu on Tuesday, August 19, at 21:00 CEST.
