Real Madrid name squad for Real Oviedo away day, with Antonio Rudiger returning after suspension.
Germany international Antonio Rudiger is back in the Real Madrid squad for their La Liga match, having served his suspension following his sending off in last season's Copa del Rey final against Osasuna. He is in contention for the Whites' visit to Oviedo on Sunday (21:30 CET).
The six-match ban saw him miss the tail end of last season's La Liga campaign, during which time the German underwent surgery to address a problem with the meniscus in his left knee.
After five league games out last season and one this term, Antonio Rudiger returns to the squad, no longer a guaranteed starter at centre-back. Dean Huijsen, one of Real Madrid's summer signings, and Eder Militao, now back to his best after a second serious knee injury, occupied the positions in the opening match against Osasuna.
Elsewhere, Xabi Alonso has named the same squad, including two youth team players: goalkeeper Sergio Mestre and midfielder Thiago Pitarch. Jude Bellingham, Endrick, Ferland Mendy and Eduardo Camavinga all miss out through injury.
