Compliments just keep coming and going between Raúl Jiménez and Chicharito Hernández. The Mexicans appreciate each other and clearly rate the other's ability to make a difference on the pitch.

Since his arrival at Wolverhampton Wanderers, Mexican striker Raul Jiménez can not stop scoring, with his flury of goals in the Premier League this season seeing him equal the record of Chicharito Hernández when he was at Manchester United.

This has led the current West Ham man, in a recent interview with 'Fox Sport', to hail his compatriot's standout season: "We think that praising a Mexican is comparing him to another Mexican, this shouldn't be the case. Compare Raúl to Kun Agüero, Salah or Mané".

"The best Mexican in the Premier League season we're going to praise him and of course make him see that he doesn't have the 20 goals and that he's not going to reach 27, but he was only a few away. Raul is not competing with me, imagine competing with me when I did not have a good season, that's setting a low standard. Compare him with the best. He's not competing against Chicharito, I don't care", added Hernández.

For his part, the Wolves forward also had kind words for Chicharito:  "Chicharito is a great player, he showed it in his time in Chivas, he is showing it in Europe and he has done it in the national team and I believe that whether you want it or not that comparison will alsways be made. I really appreciate that he compares me with Agüero, but for that the records are to be broken and I believe that if I break it he is going to be happy".

"I have many years left, I'm far away but of course I would like to and I know it's going to be difficult. So many goals in the national team is not going to be easy and I will always have the goal on my mind" he said.
