Marcus Rashford made it 1-0 for United v Liverpool. The English striker scored, but it was highly controversial as Lindelof fouled Origi in the build up.

35 minutes had gone when Lindelof fouled Divock Origi from behind in midfield. Scott McTominay took advantage to take the ball of him and pass to Daniel James who had the whole right flank to run down.

The Welsh attacker put in a brillianty cross and Marcus Rashford got ahead of Joel Matip to hit home. Liverpool were furiously protesting the decision

Both Jurgen Klopp and his players surrounded the referee to call for the VAR to review it. Martin Atkinson put his finger to his ear and it was checked, but the VAR gave it the all clear

The away side could not understand the decision as they felt the Man Utd defender clearly fouled Origi and that is what started the move.
