RB Leipzig's sporting director Ralf Rangnick says that midfielder Naby Keita has been told to leave the club by a 'whole village in Guinea'.

The 22-year-old Guinean is understood to be keen on a move to Liverpool this summer and Rangnick believes that there are plenty of people encouraging him to make the switch.

Speaking at a coaching conference, Rangnick said: "There should be someone who points them into the right direction,"

"The boys themselves are not the problem here. It is their surroundings. A whole village in Guinea or somebody from their entourage tells the players why they must do something right away. I can't blame the players."

Liverpool are already understood to have had at least one offer for the player rejected, if not two, but the Bundesliga side are determined to keep both him and fellow midfielder Emil Forsberg at the club this summer.

"I expect them to play for us next season," explained Rangnick. "Both are extraordinary players who make the difference for our team."
