Southampton manager Claude Puel has urged his side to forget about their historic victory against Inter Milan and concentrate on their Premier League clash against 18th placed Hull City.

Six years after playing the likes of Dagenham and Redbridge and Tranmere in League One, Southampton staged a second half comeback to defeat Italian giants Inter Milan in the Europa League on Thursday night.

However, the Saints face a less glamorous clash against low-lying Hull City on Sunday and Puel wants his side to remain completely focused on their trip up to east Yorkshire.

"One day after it's always difficult, of course, with a short night, but it's important now to forget this game against Inter Milan, and now it's another competition and an important game for us against Hull City," Puel said.

"Just two days after the Internazionale game, it's important to make a good answer and keep a good concentration on this game, because in the Premier League we need points. It's important to make a very good result away from home".

Puel also believes that it's vital to gain three points going into the international break.

"Of course, it will be important to have a good result just before the international break for the mind and the confidence, and also because we don't have a lot of points in the Premier League," he added.

"It's important after we lost the last game, against Chelsea at home, to have a good reaction, a good attitude for this game, because it's important to be in the top half of the Premier League".
