Mario Gotze has left PSV for Eintracht Frankfurt, so their board have turned their attention to James Rodriguez, who plays for Al Rayyan, as a possible replacement. The Colombian has been a potential target for a number of clubs for some time now because he is not happy in Qatar. This interest was brought to light by 'De Telegraaf'.

The number of clubs interested in James Rodriguez continues to rise. After it came to light that both Galatasaray and Botafogo are following him closely, 'De Telegraaf' reports that PSV have turned their attention to him as a possible replacement for Mario Gotze. The German has returned to the Bundesliga with Eintracht Frankfurt.

In principle, the Colombian is open to a change of scenery, although his preferred destination is unknown. The ideal for him, unsurprisingly, would be to sign for one of Europe's top clubs, but at the moment, it doesn't look like that is going to happen. At least not according to the international press.

In the Netherlands, a country where he has never been as a player, he could assume a leading role almost instantly. His experience at elite level would be valued. He had spells at Real Madrid and Bayern Munich before joining Everton, which became the start of his current situation.

As James has a contract with Al Rayyan, it will be necessary to negotiate with his owners to close the deal. He can leave for around 9.5 million euros. That is his current market value and, considering that the Qataris paid around eight kilos for him, it would be logical for them to ask for a little more to benefit.
