The coronavirus pandemic is affecting all football clubs directly. Not only smaller clubs have suffered because of the corona break, but also the big clubs have been affected.
In recent days, several sponsors had threatened to stop sponsoring PSG, but Accor, one of them, issued a statement to the media rectifying what had been published earlier.
Accor confirmed via their communications department that they had paid all the sponsorship money for the 2019-20 season and said they would continue to support PSG.
"Accor have paid PSG all the money for the 2019-20 season, in accordance with the contractual agreement in place between the group and the club. The group are very proud to be associated with PSG. For next season, Accor will remain together with its partner, while it takes into account the development of this dramatic situation and the season's resumption," the statement read.
So it is proven that not all sponsors abandon their clubs. There are those who are confident this crisis will pass in a few months and that football will still be as popular as ever.
