The Premier League reported that between Thursday 28th and Friday 29th of May it conducted up to 1130 new tests in the competition and that all of them were negative. Great news for the restart of the championship.

Third time's the charm. The last batch of tests carried out among  Premier League clubs left the news they were waiting for: not a single new positive for COVID-19.

The competition reported on Saturday that, after conducting 1130 tests between players and other club personnel between Thursday 28 and Friday 29 May, there are no new cases to be reported.

The trend of improvement is quite clear. The first round of tests, carried out between 17 and 18 May, showed six positive for coronavirus in three different clubs after 748 tests.

In the second round, there were fewer infections despite having an extra day of testing (19-22 May) and counting a total of 996 tests, which this time left only two positive cases.

This good news is added to the one transmitted by the British government this Saturday, which formally authorized the dispute of sport competitions in the country from June 1st.

Despite moments of tension and fear on the part of some players, the passing of the days is bringing better news to the Premier League, which is expected to resume on 17 June
