Does FIFA have a leak? FIFA

With just hours to go until the start of FIFA's annual 'The Best' awards ceremony at the London Palladium, Spanish publication 'Marca' has leaked what could be FIFA's World 11 for the 2016/17 campaign.

According to the aformentioned source, the Spanish league will dominate proceedings with no fewer than eight players who played in last season's La Liga included in the XI.

Champions League winners Real Madrid claim the bragging rights with five players in the side, with arch-rivals Barcelona and Italian Champions Juventus trailing them with three apiece.

Gianluigi Buffon was the man chosen between the sticks, with the defence comprised of: Dani Alves (Juventus/ PSG), Sergio Ramos (Real Madrid), Leonardo Bonucci (Juventus/ AC Milan) and Marcelo (Real Madrid).

The Spanish dominance continues in the midfield with Zinedine Zidane's axis of Luka Modric and Toni Kroos lining up alongside a potentially surprise choice in Barcelona's Andres Iniesta. Whilst there is no doubting Iniesta's quality it is fair to say that he did not enjoy the best season last time out and to see him included over the likes of Isco, who proved to be a key player as Real claimed their 12th European title, is something of a surprise.

Up front there were no such surprises. Cristiano Ronaldo, the favourite to take home FIFA's 'The Best' award on Monday night, leads the line, supported by Barcelona pair Lionel Messi and Neymar (Now of PSG).
