A poll has shown that more Real Madrid fans would want to see Eden Hazard be Cristiano Ronaldo's replacement than Neymar.

Spanish newspaper 'Marca' conducted the poll, in which roughly 200,000 fans of 'Los Blancos' responded.

The winner of the poll was in fact Kylian Mbappe, with a huge 54% of the vote going to the Frenchman. While he has had a magnificent World Cup so far and also has age on his side, being only 19 years-old. However, PSG's ownership are set on having a Champions League title to show for their immense investment over the last few years, and selling Mbappe to their rivals in the competition would be unfeesable.

10% of the vote went to England and Tottenham striker Harry Kane, who had an impressive start to the tournament in Russia and looks to be the favourite to win the Golden Boot, with 6 goals to his name so far.

Despite this, the most revealing thing of the result was the preference to bring Hazard to the Bernabeu over Brazilian superstar Neymar.

The two players faced off in the quarter-finals of the World Cup with Hazard's Belgian side coming out on top, and the Chelsea winger has won again when it comes to popularity among Real Madrid fans.

While there was only a 1% margin, this shows how fans view Neymar. There is no one in world football that denies the talent of the former Barcelona winger, but his attitude has been questioned on many occasions such as his theatrics in response to tackles, which has sparked the 'Neymar Challenge' on social media.

It is probable that the Belgian winger would be significantly cheaper than his counterpart, but with PSG's Financial Fair Play investigation being re-opened the French champions could be forced to sell their most expensive asset to balance the books. If that is the case, then Madrid is his most likely destination.

The poll also revealed that 63% of the fans of the European champions felt that Cristiano Ronaldo was the best player to ever play for the club, showing how big the gap left by the Portugese forward will be to fill.
