The pair were both included in Julen Lopetegui's recent Spain squad, and are reaping the benefits of their efforts.
Madrid's number 20 touched upon this topic during a recent interview with 'El Larguero', talking about his current form and his evolving role in the team, but one particular topic caught the eye more than anything else...Neymar.
The media cannot stop talking about the rumours surrounding a possible move to Madrid for the Paris Saint-Germain forward, and Asensio had his say on the issue during the interview.
"We will see what happens with Neymar," he stated. "It's not the time to think about that at the moment, we have important things ahead of us. It's something that I don't decide, it's for the president to deal with."
"He is a great player, he has shown that at both Barcelona and PSG, we will see if we ever end up in the same team," he concluded. This sort of talk is bound to fuel further rumours of a big money move for the player, as these are not the words of a man denying claims of Madrid interest. That being said, PSG are obviously not keen on letting their record transfer go, and both teammates and the president of the club have come out to deny the rumours.
