Alisson Becker wanted to pay tribute to Leo Messi is his words after receiving the Yashin trophy for best goalkeeper. The Liverpool shot-stopper assured that playing against the Argentine has made him better.

There was no one up against Alisson for the first Yashin trophy. The Liverpool keeper won the prize given out by 'France Football' and also came 7th in the Ballon d'Or.

As a winner of one of the prizes, Alisson had an interview with 'France Football'. It was there where he praised the 2019 Ballon d'Or winner, Leo Messi, who he faced in the Champions League semifinals last season.

"When we play with and against the best we can only progress. And Messi helped me a lot! Against him I have had some of my best memories in football", Alisson revealed to the French magazine.

Alisson also spoke about the direct competition that he has in the Premier League and in the Brazilian national team with Ederson, as well as Szczesny who started when they were both at Roma.

Finally, the Liverpool goalkeeper talked about his brother Muriel. "We've always had competition to see who's the best. It's a great opportunity to have him as a big brother. I've never seen him as a rival, but as an idol. I don't have the words to say what it means to me," he said.
