PL's latest proposal: daily tests and return to action in June
The Premier League have several possible resumption dates. The 'Mirror' says that one of them is to come back at the end of June and players will be tested for COVID-19 every day.
The crisis caused by COVID-19 has led to football being stopped and now competitions are looking to see when they can get going again. The 'Mirror' has reported the Premier League's plans.
According to the British paper, the league are looking to get back underway at the end of June. The players will need a couple of weeks of pre-seasons before that.
The aim is to finish the season in around eight weeks, in high summer, to complete the remaining 93 Premier League matches.
That must be approved by the authorities though. The coronavirus has yet to peak in England so there is still some way to go.
Each club will have the necessary facilities installed to test the footballers every day. That way, the players will be better protected and any abnromal result can be detected very early.
The biggest losers, if football were to come back, would be the supporters. The games will take place behind closed doors so they will not be allowed into the stadium.
The Premier League has apparently decided to pay out early some of the prize money based on league position to help the clubs at this time.
