All the talk ahead of Saturday's game between Juventus and Lazio was surrounding Cristiano Ronaldo's home debut, but Miralem Pjanic's stunning 30th-minute opener soon ensured the focus was shared.

Ronaldo's presence looks likely to be the major talking point during the entirety of the upcoming Serie A season, but it was the Bosnian who broke the deadlock at Juventus Stadium.

A cross from the right was only cleared as far as Pjanic on the edge of the box and there only ever looked like being one result form there.

The classy playmaker took aim first time, cutting beautifully across a textbook volley to fire beyond Thomas Strakosha in the visiting goal.

The Albanian international stopper was as good as a spectator as the ball arced away from his reach before nestling in the bottom corner.

The perfect demonstration of accuracy over power.
