The Valencia fans who waited for the arrival of their team at the Mestalla directed insulting chants towards Barcelona defender Gerard Pique ahead of Thursday's Copa del Rey clash between the two sides. The Barcelona bus arrived first and as a result over 5,000 people were there to greet it.

The insults directed at the Barcelona central defender also mentioned his wife, Shakira, and Wakaso. Furthermore, the Barcelona man had to endure shouts of "f**got". The league can now punish these sorts of chants.

Pique was not the only one who they insulted, all the Barcelona players were branded "golpistas". A spanish word referencing the recent troubles in Catalonia.

Pique was the focal point however, as happened during the Derby against Espanyol last weekend. They were chants towards his wife and children that should not go unnoticed by the Anti-violence Comission.

Barcelona and Valencia were playing for a place in the Copa del Rey final, with the 'Blaugrana' leading 1-0 from the first leg.
