Piqué sent off... but VAR saves him due to offside
VAR has avoided Gerard Piqué getting sent off in the 35th minute in Balaídos. The CB pulled back Denis Suárez, who was through on goal, but the Celta player was in a clear offside position.
It was all calm for Barcelona in the first half against Celta, with the exception of two passages of play that complicated their centre-backs. The first, from Gerad Piqué, was saved by the intervention of VAR.
Denis Suárez got behind the Barcelona defence, but because he was more than a metre offside. The referee firstly showed the red card, but VAR avoided it.
