When it comes to gross earnings, Gerard Pique, Gareth Bale and Eden Hazard are the La Liga footballers who earn the most each month. 'L'Equipe', after revealing the Ligue 1 salaries, which mainly feature PSG players, they have also got their eyes on those in La Liga.
Pique leads the way with 2.33 million euros a month. Bale and Hazard, both with 2.27 are next. The salaries of the two Real Madrid players are eyecatching as they are playing little for 'Los Blancos'. In fact, they have been linked a lot with a move away.
Pique's salary is not a surprising one as he has played practically his entire career at Barcelona - he played for a year at Zaragoza and he was also mat Man Utd -, so he has been renewed many times. However, he accpeted a 60% paycut to help Barca players when the club were suffering most financially because of the coronavirus crisis. The source mentioned in the first paragraph indicates that, in any case, he recibe and will receive what he is due to get and that the wage reduction will come in future campaigns.
The next in the list are Sergio Busquets, with 1.91 million euros gross a month; David Alaba with 1.88 million - he arrived as a free agent after leaving Bayern Munich - and Antoine Griezmann, also on 1.88 million.
