Current Chelsea man Kai Havertz revelaed details of getting used to life at the English club, and how he was even compared to Lionel Messi. The German international admitted that he felt a lot of pressure when the Blues paid €80 milion to get him on board.

Current Chelsea man Kai Havertz gave an interview to 'The Guardian' and recounted what it was like going to the London side in 2020-21, when he was still a Bayer Leverkusen player. His current side paid €80 million for the move.

"I don't understand how they managed to pay so much money, but I understand that in football it's quite normal. That brings pressure with it, because people thought I was Messi and I was just 20/21 years old", the German said.

He then went on to speak about his start at the Blues: "People see the amount they paid and you've got to perform from day one. You feel the pressure. The first few months weren't good".

Havertz adapted well to the Premier League and quickly became the one to get the important goals for Chelsea. So far this season, he's played 36 games in total, scoring nine and getting one assist.

"We've got a new team, a new manager, new faces. It's a completely new dressing room with a lot of personalities. You've got to adapt, create a relationship", he concluded about the English side, who will be going up against Real Madrid in a few days in the Champions League.
