Payet blasted home to put Marseille in control
A shaky start from Bilbao saw Marseille take an early two goal lead. Dimitri Payet's thumping half-volley was the pick of the two.
It was a dream start for Marseille in the Europa League. After Lucas Ocampos put them ahead inside the first minute, their lead was swifty doubled.
After a botched Bilbao clearance dropped to Payet near the penalty spot, the OM midfielder controlled the ball on his chest before lashing it past Iago Herrerin between the sticks.
