Pavard powered home a volley to make it 2-2
Few had heard of Benjamin Pavard before the World Cup, but everyone will know who is after he scored a stunning goal to draw France level against Argentina in their last 16 clash on Saturday.
The game lived up to all the pre-match hype, with Antoine Griezmann giving France an early lead, before Angel Di Maria levelled the scores with a stunning strike.
The end-to-end nature of the game continued, with Gabriel Mercado handing Argentina the advantage, before Pavard registered his entry for goal of the game to restore parity.
The impressive Lucas Hernandez streaked away down the left before crossing, his ball was to high for anyone in the middle and ran to the edge of the box where a marauding Pavard met it.
What happened next way quite simply spectacular. The full-back met the ball first time, smashing a swerving effort beyond Franco Armani and into the top corner on the volley.
