Paulinho: "I have an offer"

The Brazilian international has confirmed that Barcelona's interest in him is real and that he is currently weighing up his options.

In an interview with 'GloboEsporte', the 28-year-old stated: "There was contact made with my representative and they made me an offer. I'm very happy with my life right now and it's a difficult decision."

The former Tottenham man is contracted to Chinese Super League side Guangzhou Evergrande until December 2020. It is understood that Paulinho will go away and assess his options as he is currently very happy in China.

When asked about his current situation Paulinho explained that "We like the place, we like the people and at a sporting level we're challenging for the title and to be the champions of Asia".

The powerful midfielder was understandably happy at the interest shown in him by the Catalan giants, who would still need to come to an agreement with his current employers should any deal materialise: "I'm happy that a team as big as Barcelona have shown an interest in me, it's a special feeling. There is no timeline for a response, I'll talk to my agent everyday and we'll see what happens. Barcelona would also have to come to an agreement with my club though."
