Even though he struggled to get the words out at first, Dani Parejo managed to thank the fans at Mestalla after Valencia's Copa del Rey victory.

"It has been a season that we didn't start in the best way, but we finished it in a wonderful way. Thanks to all my team-mates, the staff, the club and you, the fans, for every match, you were always here supporting us," the Valencia captain expressed after their Copa del Rey win.

Parejo had no words to describe the greatness of what Benito Villamarín had witnessed. "We have achieved a great aim, to reach Champions League qualification, and to do it in Seville was incredible ...," said the exhausted midfielder.

Tears came to the midfielder, as he expressed his thanks to the fans: "We won on the pitch, you won in the stands."

Parejo wanted to remember those who could no longer celebrate this enormous success: "I wanted to remember that for 100 years, we have made history and also remember those who are not with us, who are also part of this title.

And, of course, he did not forget the employees of the club, to whom he has a great affection after eight years.

"Without each of the employees of the club we would be nothing, thanks to all of you, Valencia is an incredible club. I have achieved a title and I hope to win many more," he concluded.
