Everton midfielder James McCarthy is set to make an incredible recovery after having sustained a double leg fracture in January, and has piqued the interest of other Premier League outfits.

The 27-year-old underwent a successful operation on compound fractures of both his tibia and fibia, yet has already begun his rehabilitation and is progressing at an impressive rate.

Everton are hopeful that McCarthy will be able to return for the second week of pre-season, and all being well should be fighting fit for the opening of next season.

The midfielder's skillset has not gone unnoticed, and 'The Toffees' have previously fended off interest from Crystal Palace over McCarthy. It is expected that Palace will be keeping a close eye on his recovery.

This season, the Republic of Ireland international had counted only six outings for Everton, yet Palace boss Roy Hodgson will reportedly be targeting him ahead of the summer transfer window, according to the 'Daily Mail'.
