Palace coach Frank de Boer will be hoping their Belgian forward can continue his good form and take advantage of Liverpool's defensive shortcomings.

The imposing Belgian striker has scored five times in three matches at Anfield, including two for Palace last April, and so De Boer will be hoping he can carry on this fine form.

Liverpool conceded three goals at Watford on the opening weekend and were heavily criticised for their defensive laxity; something Benteke will look to exploit.

"Christian showed his importance last season,"  Frank de Boer told a media conference on Friday.

"Hopefully he can do that again for us. We know set pieces are important, they're important to all teams in the Premier League."

The London side starting the season with a shock 3-0 defeat at home to newly-promoted Huddersfield Town in De Boer's managerial debut for the club.

"Hopefully the negative impact of the 3-0 loss is gone,' De Boer added. 'It will be a difficult game at Liverpool but we'll do our best."

"Liverpool are very dangerous in attack. Jurgen Klopp has selected the players to capitalise on winning the ball in key areas."

Although Palace will be without key player Wilfried Zaha, they have an excellent record at Liverpool and will be hoping to become the first team to win four successive games at Anfield in the top flight for over 80 years.
