Olivier Giroud spotted in Lyon

A swap deal involving Olivier Giroud and Alexandre Lacazette is being mooted in some quarters after the Arsenal striker was spotted in Lyon.

Wthout wanting to get carried away, the sighting is certainly curious. Giroud took selfies with fans in Lyon-Saint-Exupéry airport. The sighting is made all the more interesting by the fact that French newspaper 'L'Équipe' reported on Saturday that Giroud was Lyon's number one target to replace Lacazette.

Could he be in town for a tour of the training ground and facilities like a certain Eliaquim Mangala or is it just a coincidence?

It is worth noting that Giroud has links in the area, having started his career with Grenoble and having been born in Chambery.

Lacazette is believed to have had his heart set on a move to Atletico Madrid before their band on registering new players was upheld and it seems that he may now be set for a move to London.

Any such deal would be immensely difficult, however, even though Giroud and Arsenal didn't enjoy the best of seasons last year, he is under contract until 2019 and there has been no indication that he wants to leave the club.
