Leicester City's Ranieri was fired

Leicester City just fired Claudio Ranieri, only one season after the man accomplished their incredible Premier League triumph in 2016, the mayor success in their history and a hiatus in European football history.

Just one day after a 2-1 loss away to Sevilla in the UEFA Champions League, Leicester City has decided to part ways with manager Claudio Ranieri. Ranieri arrived in Julyof 2015 and brought the team to win the Premier League in less than a year.

It was the club's biggest achievment in 133 years of history.

According to the club's statement the results of the national tournaments "were putting into danger the situation of the club." Leicester is fighting to not be relegated, right now they are in the position n°17.

“This has been the most difficult decision we have had to make in nearly seven years since King Power took ownership of Leicester City. But we are duty-bound to put the Club’s long-term interests above all sense of personal sentiment, no matter how strong that might be," explains Vice Chairman Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha.

With these words Leicester make clear that what counts from now on is the club's survival in the Premier League and that the Champions League will have to take a back seat.
