The Premier League issued a statement in which it made it official that clubs may, in agreement with the players, extend the contracts that end on June 30 so that they can finish the season in the same team in which they started it.

Premier League clubs will be able to extend the contracts of the players who finish next June 30, as a way to finish the season.

"An agreement has been reached so that clubs and players can mutually extend contracts beyond June 30 until the end of the season," the Premier said in a statement.

Several players like Chelsea's Willian and Spurs' Jan Vertonghen finish their contracts with their clubs on June 30, and now may end the season if they reach an agreement.

"What we have decided is to ensure that the clubs can finish the season with the same team they had available before the season was suspended," said Richard Masters, the league's executive president.

The clubs have until June 23 to reach an agreement with the players.
