Christopher Nkunku has officially joined Italy's AC Milan on a permanent deal from Chelsea, with the French forward signing a five-year contract in a €43 million agreement including add-ons.
The 27-year-old arrives following a challenging spell in the Premier League, hoping to revive his career in Serie A. After weeks of negotiation and several alternative targets, the Rossoneri settled on Nkunku as the ideal attacking reinforcement for Massimiliano Allegri.
Prior options explored by the club included Victor Boniface, Conrad Harder and Dusan Vlahovic, but Nkunku's deal was swiftly concluded once agreement was reached with Chelsea.
The striker had moved to Chelsea from RB Leipzig in the summer of 2023 for €65 million, but struggled to make a lasting impact under Enzo Maresca.
The Milan board has seized the opportunity to bring in a proven talent to bolster a forward line that, until now, had relied heavily on Santi Gimenez as the lone centre-forward.
A product of PSG's youth academy, Nkunku flourished at Leipzig before earning his move to the Premier League.
Now in Italy, the Frenchman aims to rediscover the form that made him one of Europe's most exciting attacking talents as he looks to make a significant impact for the Rossoneri over the coming seasons.
